Sunflowers
People are familiar with the nuclear explosions of Chernobyl and Fukushima. Little do they know, years after the dreadful eradication of human life, sunflowers became the new inhabitants. Sunflowers are the only flowers that can grow near a nuclear site because they soak up the radiation emitted from the paramount fumes. Fields of these golden blossoms replace mankind with something more graceful. Only through devastation does beauty grow.
